The kids had a toboggan party after Christmas with some friends at the nearby provincial park, which has great big hills. Davy made it just to the edge of the (frozen) river at the end of the toboggan run, considerably past the end the of the hill.

This is what my kids miss about California – the Sierras are only an hour away from our house and skiing/sledding is a winter highlight. I, however, do not miss it at all – I prefer to stay warm and look at your pictures!

Kris, I’ve tried winter with palm trees and with pine trees, and I prefer the latter! Must have been too many Currier & Ives prints in my childhood.
